Submissions of Documents/Information: All the application documents and information are collected by the applicant and submitted to us. We ensure that they are in order and formally submit them to the Government and ensure that the application is processed speedily. The Interview: After the documents are perused by the Government and found to be in order, an appointment will be made for the interview of the applicant by officials of the Government. Place of Interview: The interview normally takes place in Dominica. There are however some clients who are unwilling or unable to visit Dominica. For such persons the interview can be conducted anywhere in the world but they must pay the Government an additional $3,000.00 and also meet the travel and hotel expenses of the interviewers. (There are normally 2 or 3 interviewers). Foreign Language: Where an applicant cannot speak English the interview is conducted with the assistance of a translator. Where original documents are not in the English Language notarized translations must be submitted. Following the Interview: After the interview the applicant takes the oath of allegiance, the certificate of citizenship if granted and the Dominica passport is issued to the applicant. How long does it takes: The application process takes about 2 to 3 months. In urgent cases however, we can, working with the applicant and Government, shorten the time. Refund of fees: Only the application fee and processing fee are required to be paid to the Government at the time the application is submitted. The balance is payable after the Government has indicated that the application is in order. This is before the interview. Thereafter the balance of the Government fees are paid. If the application is rejected before the interview then the application and processing fees are non refundable. In the unlikely event that the application is rejected after the interview all moneys paid to the Government except the application and processing fees are returned to the applicant. |
